Xinhua Village is known as the “Water and Silversmith Town”. Since the Nanzhao Kingdom in the Tang Dynasty, the sound of hammering gold, silver and copperwares has been heard here for over a thousand years. At the foot of the Phoenix Hill and beside the Black Dragon Pond, the sound of young craftsmen hammering silverwares echoed through the small village. Over a thousand years, with just a small hammer in their hands, local silversmiths migrated west and north along the ancient Silk Road and Tea & Horse Road, building the legends of Xinhua silversmith.
